Water recovery
Up to 98% recombination
A porous ceramic catalyst recombines hydrogen and oxygen into water, which drips back into the cell.

NICAD POWER PTE LTD

Stationary battery accessories
Catalyst vent plugs recombine hydrogen and oxygen into water and return it to the cell, reducing water loss and the frequency of electrolyte topping-up.
Designed for major lead-acid and nickel-cadmium cell types, the range includes three models with adaptors and rubber washers. Select the plug for the cell connection and maximum gassing current.
| Model | Component number | Cell capacity | Adaptor |
|---|---|---|---|
| NP15S | 203 000 371 | 10–90 Ah | 16 mm |
| NP35M | 203 000 372 | 100–350 Ah | 24 mm |
| NP50L | 203 000 373 | 300–1,200 Ah | 24 mm |
Final selection depends on the maximum gassing current as well as the cell capacity and connection size.
Water recovery
A porous ceramic catalyst recombines hydrogen and oxygen into water, which drips back into the cell.
Maintenance
Returning water to the electrolyte reduces water consumption and topping-up frequency.
Cell protection
The vent plug is designed to prevent flames and sparks from entering the cell.
Battery rooms must retain adequate ventilation. Gas recombination does not replace the ventilation required for the installation.
Handle the plug carefully: impacts or falls can damage the internal porous ceramic components. Do not use damaged plugs. Protect plugs from direct sunlight and store removed plugs upright to allow retained water to drain.
