NICAMAX

NICAMAX combines proven pocket plate nickel-cadmium technology with high gas recombination for dependable stationary backup power. Two ranges cover long-duration energy needs and mixed industrial loads.

The maintenance-free design eliminates routine water addition within the specified operating conditions, while retaining the strength and service life expected of an industrial Ni-Cd battery.

Choose the range for your duty

RangeRated capacityDischarge dutyTypical use
NP1L15–1,700 AhLow rate · 1–100 hoursLong-duration stationary backup
NP1M8–1,330 AhMixed loads · 30 minutes–3 hoursIndustrial duties with varying current demand

Select the range against the required current, backup time and final system voltage. Temperature and discharge performance vary by range.

Pocket plate technology

Energy range

NP1L

Optimised for relatively low current over long discharge periods.

Medium-power range

NP1M

Balances energy and power for duties combining high and low loads.

Reduced water consumption

Gas recombination

A recombination level above 95% and low-pressure venting reduce water loss and gas emissions.

Built for industrial service

  • Translucent polypropylene containers allow visual inspection.
  • Welded plate tabs and bus bars form a robust current-carrying structure.
  • Pocket plates and separators support free electrolyte circulation.
  • Terminal covers provide protection for installed connections.
  • Service life exceeds 20 years at 25°C.

Applications

  • UPS, process control and industrial alarm systems
  • Power plants, substations and switching duties
  • Onshore and offshore oil and gas facilities
  • Medical facilities, airports and building infrastructure
  • Starting and emergency backup systems

Charging and maintenance

Single-level charging is specified at 1.42 ± 0.01 V per cell. For two-level charging, use 1.42 ± 0.01 V per cell float and 1.45 ± 0.01 V per cell high charge.

No water addition is required within the recommended −20°C to +40°C operating range at 1.42 V per cell with temperature compensation. Preventive inspection remains necessary. Charger settings and temperature compensation must match the selected installation.
